Take Time to be Happy

It’s very hard to stay happy in these difficult times. Countries are at war, families are struggling to keep their heads above water, we’re all coming to terms with the effects of a pandemic and what are we going to do about the state of our lovely planet? Sometimes it feels like the world is falling to its knees and there’s nothing to stop this downward spiral of tragedy and misfortune.


Never before has it been so important to look after ourselves by recognising the goodness in our lives. Happiness is a choice, but it does require effort, daily effort. But we owe it to ourselves to make the effort. Do your best to look on the bright side. Take time and be present. Enjoy the simple things in your life. Enjoy your family, friends, and pets, take a walk in the park, do a good deed, give someone a big smile. Whatever it is that makes you feel warm inside. Try and take perspective and be grateful for all these wonderful things that we take for granted. It’s not easy and some of us need a little help releasing the negative block but making a mindful, conscious effort to think positively and look on the bright side is one little step closer to choosing happiness.


Go on, do yourself a favour and make the conscious effort today to do something positively. You’ve got this!
